Malawi

Malawi, also known as the "Warm Heart of Africa," is a small landlocked country in southeastern Africa that offers a unique and authentic African experience for tourists. With its stunning landscapes, including the beautiful Lake Malawi, which is home to a variety of fish species and offers opportunities for water sports and beach activities, Malawi is a nature lover's paradise. The country is also rich in culture, with traditional dances, music, and crafts that showcase the vibrant and diverse communities that call Malawi home. Visitors can also explore national parks and wildlife reserves, where they can spot elephants, lions, and other African wildlife. With friendly locals, delicious food, and affordable prices, Malawi is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an authentic African adventure.

Malawi Immunization Recommendations and Requirements

Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.

Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Malawi. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
