Jamaica
Jamaica is a vibrant and diverse island nation located in the Caribbean Sea, just a short flight from the United States. Known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and warm tropical climate, Jamaica is a popular destination for travelers seeking sun, sand, and relaxation. However, the island also offers a rich cultural experience, with a unique blend of African, European, and indigenous influences evident in its music, food, and art. Visitors can explore historic sites such as the Bob Marley Museum and Port Royal, sample delicious Jamaican cuisine, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, snorkeling, and zip-lining. With its friendly locals, laid-back atmosphere, and endless opportunities for adventure, Jamaica is the perfect destination for a memorable Caribbean vacation.
Jamaica Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Jamaica. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
