Syria
Syria is a country located in the Middle East that offers a rich cultural experience for tourists. The country is home to ancient ruins, historic landmarks, and bustling markets. Visitors can explore the capital city of Damascus, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, or visit the ancient city of Palmyra, which was once a major trading hub. Syria also boasts beautiful natural landscapes, including the Mediterranean coastline and the mountains of the Syrian Desert. However, due to ongoing conflict and political instability, the country is currently not safe for tourists to visit.
Syria Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Syria. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
