Slovakia

Slovakia is a small, landlocked country in Central Europe that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. Visitors can explore the country's stunning mountain ranges, including the High Tatras, which offer excellent hiking and skiing opportunities. The capital city of Bratislava is a charming mix of medieval architecture and modern amenities, with plenty of museums, galleries, and restaurants to explore. Slovakia is also home to numerous castles and fortresses, including the UNESCO-listed Spiš Castle, which is one of the largest in Europe. With its friendly people, delicious cuisine, and affordable prices, Slovakia is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit.

Slovakia Immunization Recommendations and Requirements

Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.

Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Slovakia. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
