Iran

Iran is a country located in the Middle East that offers a unique blend of ancient history, stunning architecture, and natural beauty. Tourists can explore the ancient ruins of Persepolis, marvel at the intricate tile work of the mosques in Isfahan, and wander through the bustling bazaars of Tehran. The country is also home to breathtaking landscapes, including the deserts of Dasht-e Kavir and the lush forests of the Alborz Mountains. Visitors can indulge in delicious Persian cuisine, sip on traditional tea, and experience the warm hospitality of the Iranian people. Despite political tensions, Iran remains a safe and welcoming destination for tourists seeking an authentic cultural experience.

Iran Immunization Recommendations and Requirements

Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.

Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Iran. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
