El Salvador
El Salvador is a small Central American country that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and history. Despite its turbulent past, the country has made significant progress in recent years and is now a safe and welcoming destination for travelers from the U.S. Visitors can explore the stunning beaches, hike through lush forests, and discover ancient Mayan ruins. The vibrant cities offer a taste of local cuisine, music, and art, while the friendly locals are always eager to share their traditions and stories. With affordable prices and a warm climate year-round, El Salvador is a hidden gem that should not be missed.
El Salvador Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting El Salvador. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
