Burma, also known as Myanmar, is a country in Southeast Asia that offers a unique blend of ancient traditions and modern developments. The country is home to stunning landscapes, including the famous Bagan temples and the Inle Lake, where visitors can experience the local culture and cuisine. Burma is also known for its friendly people, who are always eager to share their traditions and customs with tourists. However, it is important to note that the country is still developing, and visitors should be prepared for some challenges, such as limited infrastructure and occasional political unrest. Overall, Burma is a fascinating destination for those seeking an authentic cultural experience.
Burma (Myanmar) Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Burma (Myanmar). This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
