At Away Clinic we use one-liter bags of saline to administer vitamin IV drips. It takes about one hour for all of the fluid to empty into the bloodstream. In addition there is a setup time of up to 15 minutes and a cleanup time at the end (5 minutes or so). All told you should be in and out in less than 1.5 hours. It's actually a good thing though to slow down for a bit and focus on your health.
Here are a few tips to help you pass the time while you wait for your IV to finish:
Bring a book or magazine
Bring a tablet to watch a movie
Chat with other patrons or staff
You might find that if you stay off your phone to the extent possible during your IV drip visit that you will leave more recharged. So much of what stresses us out on a daily basis is on our phones.
More about vitamin IV therapy
Vitamin IV therapy is a great way to administer vitamins to people. By bypassing the digestive system, you can be sure that more vitamins get to where they are needed relative to oral vitamin supplements. Side effects are rare and each IV drip is administered by a well-trained registered nurse.
