Yemen
Yemen is a country located in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula, known for its rich history and stunning landscapes. The country is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Old City of Sana'a, which boasts beautiful architecture and a vibrant market. Visitors can also explore the ancient city of Shibam, known for its towering mud-brick skyscrapers, or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Socotra Island. Yemen is also famous for its delicious cuisine, which includes dishes such as mandi, a traditional Yemeni rice and meat dish, and shakshouka, a spicy tomato and egg dish. Despite ongoing conflict, Yemen remains a unique and fascinating destination for adventurous travelers.
Yemen Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Yemen. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
