Libya
Libya is a North African country with a rich history and culture, making it an ideal destination for tourists seeking an authentic experience. Visitors can explore ancient ruins such as Leptis Magna and Sabratha, which offer a glimpse into the country's Roman past. The capital city of Tripoli is a bustling metropolis with a vibrant souk and stunning Ottoman-era architecture. Libya also boasts beautiful beaches along the Mediterranean coast, as well as the Sahara Desert, where visitors can go on camel treks and experience traditional Bedouin culture. However, due to ongoing political instability and security concerns, it is important for tourists to exercise caution and stay informed before traveling to Libya.
Libya Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Libya. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
