Israel, including the West Bank and Gaza
Israel is a small country located in the Middle East, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the west and surrounded by several Arab countries. It is a land of rich history, diverse culture, and stunning natural beauty. Visitors can explore ancient cities such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa, which are home to religious sites, museums, and vibrant markets. The West Bank and Gaza Strip are territories that are currently under Palestinian control, and visitors can learn about the ongoing conflict and political situation in the region. Despite the challenges, Israel remains a popular destination for tourists seeking adventure, relaxation, and a deeper understanding of the region's complex history and culture.
Israel, including the West Bank and Gaza Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Israel, including the West Bank and Gaza. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
