India

India is a vibrant and diverse country that offers a unique travel experience for Americans. From the bustling cities of Delhi and Mumbai to the serene backwaters of Kerala, India has something for everyone. Visitors can explore ancient temples, sample delicious cuisine, and shop for colorful textiles and handicrafts. The country's rich history and culture are evident in its architecture, art, and festivals. However, travelers should be prepared for the crowds, noise, and chaos that are part of daily life in India. It is also important to take precautions to stay safe and healthy, such as avoiding tap water and being aware of scams. Overall, India is a fascinating destination that will leave a lasting impression on any traveler.

India Immunization Recommendations and Requirements

Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.

Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting India. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
