Bhutan
Bhutan, a small Himalayan kingdom nestled between India and China, is a unique destination for tourists seeking an authentic cultural experience. Known for its stunning landscapes, vibrant festivals, and commitment to preserving its traditional way of life, Bhutan offers visitors a chance to explore ancient monasteries, hike through pristine forests, and interact with friendly locals. The country's Gross National Happiness philosophy, which prioritizes the well-being of its citizens over economic growth, creates a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for travelers. With limited tourism and a focus on sustainable development, Bhutan is a must-visit destination for those seeking a truly unforgettable adventure.
Bhutan Immunization Recommendations and Requirements
Before traveling, make sure you are up-to-date on all of your routine immunizations including influenza and COVID-19. Note that many vaccines that are now considered "routine" were not available until recent decades so you may not have received them at all, depending on your age and other factors.
Infants, 6 to 11 months old should receive one dose of MMR and Hepatitis A prior to visiting Bhutan. This does not count toward routine childhood immunizations.
